2012 NFL Free Agency: Steve Wyche Lists Red Bryant, David Hawthorne As Top Players At Their Positions

NFL free agency officially opens in three days on March 13 which means teams don't have much time left to re-sign their own players before they are able to test the market. The Seattle Seahawks have a few players that they would likely be happy to keep on the team, especially on defense. In fact, NFL.com's Steve Wyche listed two Seahawks defensive players in the top few players at their positions. Those players are defensive lineman Red Bryant and linebacker David Hawthorne.

Wyche believes that Red Bryant is the third best defensive lineman in this years class of free agents behind Mario Williams and Paul Soliai, and ahead of John Abraham and Jason Jones. Wyche believes that Bryant may be one of the better kept secrets in the NFL.

A combo end-tackle, Bryant is a huge part of a nice defensive front in Seattle. He is a very good player few people recognize.

Wyche then lists Hawthorne as the fourth best linebacker in this year's class of free agents behind Curtis Lofton, Stephen Tulloch and London Fletcher. Wyche wrote that Hawthorne's price tag should allow the Seahawks to keep him around.

He's been productive and solid for the Seahawks as their defense has really come together. Hawthorne probably won't command top dollar, which is why Seattle should be able to retain him.
