One of the highest priorities for the Seattle Seahawks this offseason is retaining running back Marshawn Lynch, who has become their offensive 'lynchpin' if you will over the past few seasons. The question isn't of want, I think both Lynch and the Seahawks want to reunite, but the question will be whether they can decide on a deal or if the team will use their franchise tag to retain his services.
According to team GM John Schneider, that's exactly what the team is attempting, speaking at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis Thursday.
#Seahawks GM John Schneider also said Lynch is a candidate to receive franchise tag should a deal not be reached.

It would behoove the Seahawks to try and keep from using the franchise tag on him, and Schneider is cleary trying to get a deal done first and foremost, continuing his talks with Lynch's agent now instead of later:
Schneider said he's meeting with Marshawn Lynch's agent tonight. "Have great discussions. Good dialogue. No fist fights."

Well luckily there's been no fisticuffs yet. Hopefully they can work out a deal to keep Beast Mode where he belongs.
