NFL Combine Could Rise QB Ryan Tannehill's Stock to Seahawks Draft Pick

One player that Seattle will almost definitely have a close eye on this week at the NFL Combine is Texas A&M Quarterback Ryan Tannehill. The Seahawks would like to have somebody to compete with Tarvaris Jackson but thus far nobody has grabbed a firm hold on that number three QB spot in the draft behind Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III.

If Tannehill has a great Combine showing he could not only prove himself worthy of being the third best QB on the board, but move himself up to Seattle at the 11/12 spot in the first round.

ESPN’s Todd McShay’s said this of Tannehill on the Kevin Calabro Show:

“So there’s a wide array of opinions on him, but it wouldn’t shock me if we wound up seeing Tannehill. I do think he’s the third best quarterback, so if he comes off the board at 11 or 12 it certainly would be no greater shock than Christian Ponder a year ago to the Vikings.”

He was the Aggies leading receiver during his first two years at Texas A&M and then took over as starting quarterback as a junior. Last season he threw for 3,744 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions.

Pete Carroll has always seemed to like quarterbacks that are athletic and can move around, so it would make sense to see an interest there and Tannehill may have the tools to wow scouts at this week’s Combine.
