Fantasy Football 2012: Is Russell Wilson worth a look against Patriots?

Quarterback Russell Wilson could deserve a look as the Seattle Seahawks face a New England Patriots team that gives up yards through the air.

The Seattle Seahawks have one of the most anemic pass offenses in the NFL, and while Russell Wilson might be at or very near the bottom of quarterbacks to pick off the waiver wire, this week might be an exception.

The Seahawks host the New England Patriots and their 30th-ranked pass defense, which allows 291 yards per game, at CenturyLink Field.

Wilson is coming off his first 200-plus yard game and went 19-of-25 to complete 76 percent of his passes in a 16-12 victory over the Carolina Panthers. He threw one touchdown, two picks and had five rushes for 12 yards.

Head coach Pete Carroll appears to be slowly letting Wilson take more shots down the field rather than handing the ball off to Marshawn Lynch, and that trend could continue considering New England has a top 10 run defense. However, the biggest concern from a fantasy standpoint is Wilson's one touchdown to five interceptions thrown in the past two games.

Still, Wilson might have his chances this week. If there were any time to take a risk on Wilson in a fantasy league that has already reached deep into the quarterback pool, this would be it.
