Seahawks defensive tackle Brandon Mebane missed practice on Thursday with a calf injury. The injury appears to be new, as Mebane was not listed on Wednesday's practice report.

If Mebane is unable to play on Sunday against the Panthers, it would be a significant blow to Seattle's defense. He is one of the anchors of the stout Seahawks rush defense, which ranks second in the NFL. Mebane, who has started the last 28 regular-season games for the Seahawks, is off to a strong start this season with 15 tackles and two sacks.

Mebane wasn't the only Seattle defender sitting out on Thursday, as cornerback Marcus Trufant and defensive tackle Jaye Howard also missed practice. Trufant is dealing with a back injury, while Howard missed practice due to a foot injury.

On the offensive side of the ball, Marshawn Lynch, the leading rusher in the NFL, was a full participant in Thursday's practice. Lynch was a limited participant on Wednesday, but that was only due to rest. Guard John Moffitt has already been ruled out of Sunday's game with a foot injury.
