Coming off a week in which he threw for just 122 yards and accumulated three fantasy football points, Russell Wilson enters Week 8 with low expectations.
SB Nation fantasy football writer Scottie Gerhart ranked Wilson as the No. 25 quarterback this week. That is especially low when you consider five of the eight quarterbacks ranked below him are either backups or questionable to play with an injury.
Wilson will face a Lions defense which is allowing the 18th fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season. Detroit is giving up 15.1 fantasy points per game. The Lions have allowed 11 passing touchdowns, but have also intercepted nine passes. They have also been successful at limiting the running ability of opposing quarterbacks, allowing 84 yards in six games.
This has been somewhat of a boom or bust season for Wilson. He's had three double-digit scoring games, including 22 points in Week 6. On the other side he's had four single-digit games including three points last week and one point in Week 4.
Kickoff between the Seahawks and Lions is set for 10 a.m. PT on Sunday.
