Over the last season and a half, Marshawn Lynch's success has made him a must start in fantasy football. That proves to be true again this week as Lynch is the No. 7 rated running back, despite facing a tough matchup.
Lynch is the No. 7 rated running back in standard leagues and the No. 11 running back in points-per-reception leagues this week, according to SB Nation fantasy football expert Michael Gallagher. That is a fairly high ranking considering Lynch is going up against a Lions defense which has allowed the fifth-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs.
Opposing running backs are averaging just 10.5 fantasy points per game in standard leagues against Detroit this season. The Lions have also done a good job of keeping opposing running backs out of the endzone as they've scored just two total touchdowns in six games.
Lynch has scored just two touchdowns this season and has just one standard league double-digit performance in his last three games.
