NFL Power Rankings 2012: Seahawks drop after 49ers loss

The Seahawks offense struggled again on Thursday, and that hurt them in the Week 8 power rankings.

The Seahawks dropped in all major power rankings in Week 8 after falling to the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday. Seattle made it into the top 10 in most places after defeating the Patriots in Week 6, but lost some of that momentum in Week 7.

Ryan Van Bibber of SB Nation slots the Seahawks at No. 10, sliding them down two spots from last week in his NFL Power Rankings. Bibber has concerns about Seattle's ability to win on the road:

10. Seattle Seahawks (LW: 8, 4-3): This is where the rankings start to get into the logjam of middling teams. Seattle's defense is impressive; the offense not so much. Also, Pete Carroll's team is 1-3 on the road.

Brian Billick of Fox Sports agrees with Van Bibber, and also has the Seahawks at No. 10. Yahoo thinks the least of Seattle,as the site places Seattle at No. 12.

Pete Prisco at CBS Sports and ESPN's panel of experts agree that the Seahawks are the No. 11 team in the NFL. ESPN NFC West blogger Mike Sando points out some statistics that may tell part of the story as to why Seattle has struggle away from CenturyLink Field:

Russell Wilson has six TDs with no INTs at home, but 2 TDs and 7 INTs on the road.

Seattle hits the road again this week, as they travel to Detroit to face the Lions.
