Dre Kirkpatrick of the Alabama Crimson Tide is coming off a strong performance in the 2012 BCS National Championship game with the opportunities he had on the field. He registered three tackles (one unassisted, two assisted) and proved to be very solid in his coverage and tackling skills.
In the latest SB Nation Mock Draft, Kirkpatrick is being considered with the first pick of the Seattle Seahawks at the 11th pick. The Seahawks have promising young players in the secondary, but hardly any of them would be considered sure locks to be guys who will start at the position for the rest of the decade. Kirkpatrick could be that type of guy.
The big question remains as to whether Kirkpatrick is ready to go to the pros. He is a junior, so he could return for another season. But most likely he will leave the Tide and try and take advantage of his high draft stock.
