Seahawks Claim DE Landon Cohen on Waivers

As teams across the NFL scour the land for talented waiver claims and cut players, the Seattle Seahawks hope that they found some value in defensive end Landon Cohen, claimed on waivers according to NFL.com’s Jason La Canfora via twitter.

The 25 year old Cohen has spent the last season with the New England Patriots, and a bit with the Jacksonville Jaguars as well. He was a seventh round draft pick of the Detroit Lions in the 2008 NFL Draft, spending his first two years in the league playing there. He was a two time second team All-American out of Ohio University, and has 30 career tackles in the NFL, with no sacks, forced fumbles, interceptions, or deflected passes. Cohen will be used solely as a backup type player unless injury forces him onto the field.
