Tom Cable Has Back Surgery, Remains in the Hospital

Assistant Coach Tom Cable's recent back surgery leaves his status questionable for this Sunday's game against the Falcons. For More on the Seahawks head over to Field Gulls.

According to Sports Radio 950 KJR's Curtis Crabtree, Seattle Seahawks Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Line Coach Tom Cable will miss the next few days of practice due to a recent back surgery. The unknown procedure will leave him in the hospital to recuperate for the next few days:

Tom Cable had surgery Monday on his back and won't be at practice for a few days as he's still in the hospital.

Cable's status for Sunday's matchup with the talented Atlanta Falcons is still up in the air as his timetable for release from the hospital is still unknown. Knowing what I know about back surgery (which isn't much), standing on a sideline less that a week post-op can't be a doctor recommended activity, but then it's the NFL, the league of robots who feel no pain, so it wouldn't shock me if Cable was out there this Sunday. Hopefully he will be well enough to grab a headset this weekend and take his place on the sideline.
