Seahawks Vs Raiders: Injuries And Player Notes

A few marquee Seahawks players are expected to sit Friday night as the Seahawks take on the Raiders.

The Seahawks host the Oakland Raiders tonight at 7:30PM and will do so without the services of a few key players. Though there has been no official announcement today on the team scratches for tonight's matchup, I can tell you that a few big names will sit out. Marshawn Lynch is still nursing a sore ankle and will not suit up. Justin Forsett and Leon Washington will look to split carries with the first team and Thomas Clayton and Vai Taua will pick up the slack later in the game.

Russell Okung practiced a bit this week but is expected to sit out as well. Tyler Polumbus is likely to get the start, and Will Robinson will back him up.

David Hawthorne will sit with a sore knee, with rookie K.J. Wright and veteran Matt McCoy taking his place. McCoy has been playing at the strongside linebacker spot mostly but will play a few snaps in the middle in nickel situations.

Past that, Mike WIlliams and Sidney Rice have both been banged up this week and have missed practices. Ben Obomanu missed practice as well after hitting his head and Isaiah Stanback has been sitting with a sore hamstring. It's likely these four receivers will not play, and the Seahawks signed WRs Patrick Williams, Chris Carter, and Owen Spencer this week to add some depth.

Kam Chancellor has been battling a foot injury and may sit. Probably for the best anyway, as Josh Pinkard, Atari Bigby, Jeron Johnson and Mark LeGree need to get some looks as they battle for a few remaining roster spots.
