The Pittsburgh Steelers bounced back from their Week One thrashing at the hands of the Ravens by thoroughly dominating the listless Seahawks in Week Two. The Steelers cruised, quite easily, to a 24-0 win over the Seahawks, who never got anything going on either side of the football.
Here are some key statistics:
The Steelers made 23 first downs. The Seahawks managed just 8. The Seahawks went 2 for 12 on third down. The Steelers made 8 of 15 3rd down attempts. The Steelers amassed 421 yards on offense, and the Seahawks managed a meager 164.
The Hawks, down for the entirety of the game, rushed for only 31 yards. They were penalized for more than twice that amount - 6 penalties for 66 yards lost. The offense looked completely lost the entire game and the defense suffered from being on the field for much too long. The Steelers dominated the time of possession, 38:44- 21:16.
None of this is super surprising but despite initially low expectations, the Seahawks level of ineptness is disconcerting. They'll look to bounce back next week when they host Arizona.
