NFL Free Agency Rumors: Jordan Babineaux Considering Titans, Jets, Seahawks

Per King-5 TV's Chris Egan, former Seahawk and current free agent safety Jordan Babineaux's agent indicates his client is still considering re-signing with the Seahawks but is also getting heavy interest from the Titans and the Jets. He lists those teams as front runners but notes he hasn't given up the thought of re-signing with the team he's been a part of since 2004. Big Play Babs is one of the few remaining Seahawks that was a part of the glorious run to Superbowl XL in 2005.

Egan's Tweet:

"From Jordan Babineaux's agent. Bigplaybabs would love to return to #seahawks but #Titans and #Jets currently front-runners, hawks in mix."

It's unclear at this point how badly the Seahawks want to bring Babineaux back. This report seems to indicate that he's at least gotten an offer from his former team but there are no numbers yet disclosed.

The Hawks have beefed up their secondary through the draft and rookie free agency and are looking to get younger at all positions. Babineaux is a veteran and versatile player that is able to match up against bigger receivers on the outside in certain situations but also can play the slot in nickel and dime package situations. Field Gulls writer Thomas Beekers put together a good look at the veteran safety that you should check out.

Stay tuned. There is more up-to-date analysis going on as always at FieldGulls.
