As the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos battle over the rights to defensive tackle Brandon Mebane, the St. Louis Rams have shimmied their way into the mix and made a contract offer to him according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
The Rams are far from being considered a front-runner for Mebane's services with some speculation swirling about says he will remain a Seahawk in 2011. Seattle wide receiver Mike Williams tweeted earlier today that Mebane will be rejoining him and the rest of his teammates, but that report is, needless to say, untenable by any stretch of the imagination as Williams is not in the know about Mebane's contract status.
Mebane has played his entire NFL career with the Seahawks after being selected in the third round in the 2007 NFL draft out of Cal. He has 148 tackles, 10 sacks, and two forced fumbles in his professional career thus far.
