The Seattle Seahawks are reportedly working on a deal with Tarvaris Jackson, but they may not be done wading into the quarterback market. The need for a third quarterback is still there in Seattle, and rumors about Matt Leinart are still swirling. Leinart could be reunited with his college head coach, Pete Carroll, in Seattle before all is said and done, if the reports surfacing on Tuesday are true.
NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora reported Matt Leinart is "likely" in Seattle. He also confirmed the Tarvaris Jackson talk, which appears to be all but certain.
As I reported a while back, SEA was high on Tarvaris Jackson. He will sign there. Matt Leinart likely, too. Seahawks out of Kolb sweepstakes
CBS Sports' Mike Freeman chimed in, as well, tweeting that people around the league expect Leinart to end up in Seattle.
People around the league expect Seahawks to sign Matt Leinart. Tarvaris Jackson...Matt Leinart. Next up for Seahawks: Jeff George.
If it were to happen, the Seahawks would have Charlie Whitehurst, Jackson, Leinart and a whole lot of questions at the quarterback spot. None of the three hold a significant amount of useful experience and all are unproven starters. However, this could all be part of a rebuilding process, with the three combining to serve as a bridge to the quarterback of the future, whoever it may be.
