2011 NFL Draft Results: Seattle Seahawks Select K.J. Wright

With the 99th pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks selected K.J. Wright, a linebacker from Mississippi State. After choosing offensive linemen with their first two picks, at least the Seahawks changed it up here, though picking a linebacker is a bit perplexing, to say the least. In the middle, Seattle still has Lofa Tatupu, though his injury history has hampered him as of late. Aaron Curry is still young, making another linebacker choice, especially with the second pick of the fourth round, struck many as odd right away.

At 6-foot-4, 240 pounds, it's likely Wright will be used as a rush end in Seattle's defensive scheme. Think of it less as a linebacker and more as a defensive end working without his hand in the ground.
