Seahawks LB David Hawthorne Earns NFC Defensive Player of the Week Award

Linebacker David Hawthorne had himself a great game for the Seattle Seahawks in their 31-14 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, so much so that he garnered the NFC defensive player of the week award, the first time in his career he has received the honor.

Hawthorne finished the game tied with Leroy Hill with a team-high six tackles, as well as a interception off of Vince Young intended for running back LeSean McCoy, eventually retuning it 77 yards to the house for a touchdown.

Hawthorne becomes the second Seahawk defender in past few weeks to receive the award as defensive end Chris Clemons won defensive player of the week for his work against the St. Louis Rams, finishing with three sacks and two forced fumbles during the game.
