Seahawks Vs. 49ers: ESPN's Mike Sando's Week 16 'Perfect Storm' For Seattle

The Seattle Seahawks are hanging on for dear life to their playoff hopes, trying to make it two straight years that Pete Carroll has brought them to the second-season. Unfortunately they do not control their own destiny and will need some assistance from around the league. ESPN's Mike Sando has created their perfect weekend scenario for the Seahawks moving forward:

Saturday:

An Arizona loss at Cincinnati, eliminates them from the playoff picture entirely, giving Seattle one less competitor for a Wild Card spot.

A Jets win over the Giants would also eliminate Eli and Co. from the playoff picture, with Seattle holding a better conference record if more than two W.C. contenders finished 9-7, giving the 'hawks the upper hand over their NFC East counterparts.

A San Diego victory at Detroit would keep the Lions from clinching a Wild Card berth for at least another week, keeping the window open that much longer for Seattle to try and sneak in the back door. They need Lions losses badly.

A Dallas win over Philadelphia gives the Cowboys the NFC East title. Couple that with a Giants win and the Eagles and Giants are out of the wild-card scenario. What's more, Seattle's superior conference record would break any ties.

A Seattle win over San Francisco. Duh.

Sunday:

A Chicago upset of Green Bay would give Seattle the upper hand against the Bears because of their regular season victory against them, though a Packers win would eliminate the Bears from contention.

Monday:

A New Orleans win over Atlanta helps Seattle because they need the Lions and Falcons to lose out.
