I've had the same surgery Mike Williams successfully underwent on Tuesday morning, and it amazes me the Seattle Seahawks wide receiver is already putting in the work to mentor his potential replacement. With Williams out, Ricardo Lockette will likely see more significant action in the Seahawks lineup, and his on-the-job training is already underway.
From Doug Farrar:
Mike Wiliams' IR status puts WR Ricardo Lockette up depth chart, but Williams was giving Lockette game tips just an hour after his surgery. Mike Williams told Ricardo Lockette to get over to his house tonight so they can talk more about coverages. Again, just hours after surgery.
This may not seem like a lot, but looking back on my own surgery, all I wanted to do was sit on the couch with my leg raised above my head. And an hour after the procedure? I'm not sure I could've fed myself, let alone break down defenses.
All of this is a long way of saying props to Williams for helping the team. It's a selfless act, and one he didn't necessarily need to do, especially right after undergoing surgery.
