Seahawks Vs. Rams: Seattle Makes Their Return To Monday Night Football

The Seattle Seahawks are preparing for their big prime-time showdown against the St. Louis Rams on Monday night. Although the matchup doesn't have a lot of broad national appeal (and in fact is being pegged by many to be one of the lowest-rated Monday night games in some time), the Seattle crowd is sure to be nice and loud at CenturyLink Field.

As Danny O'Neil of the Seattle Times points out, this is the first time that the Seahawks will appear on Monday Night Football since shutting out the San Francisco 49ers in 2007 by a final score of 24-0.

Things have certainly changed a bit in the intervening four seasons since then, but the hometown faithful are sure to be rooting with all their might during their brief time in the spotlight. The Seahawks are heavy favorites, having just beaten the Rams a few weeks ago. If they game gets off to a good start for the home team, they may be able to put on a show for the national crowd and prove that football is still alive and well in the Northwest.
