The Seattle Seahawks take on the Washington Redskins at CenturyLink Field on Sunday, and something will be a bit different. It will be noticeable to the fan watching at home or in the stadium, even if you didn't realize it was missing before. If you're wondering what the "it" is, look towards the end zones.
According to the team's official Twitter account, blue end zones are back for the first time in quite a while.
The blue endzones have returned to CenturyLink Field for the first time in 5 seasons.
And because I was at CenturyLink Field on Saturday for the Apple Cup, there's a photo of the new-look field after the jump.
Truth be told, I had no idea the Seahawks had played without fully-painted end zones for so long. It certainly adds a nice touch to the playing surface, even if it was a bit odd to see the bright blue end zones during the Apple Cup.
It's also worth noting a crew of power washers spent much of the night cleaning the field, scrubbing the extra hash marks and logos left over from the Apple Cup.
These poor guys were soaked, and spent hours scrubbing as we watched from above while working. Rough job.
