Seahawks vs. Redskins: Seattle Starts Three Game Home Stand Against Washington

The Seattle Seahawks host the Washington Redskins at CenturyLink Field on Sunday.

The Seattle Seahawks are running hot after two straight wins against the Ravens and Rams, but now turn their attention to the struggling but dangerous Washington Redskins this week, looking to make it three in a row.

The Redskins were looking like the team in the to beat in the NFC East earlier in the season, but have lost every game since their bye week, a span of six straight weeks without a win. injuries and inconsistencies at the quarterback position have played a large part of it as almost all of their competition over the past few weeks have had losing records, though they pushed the surging Dallas Cowboys to overtime last week, though couldn't finish the job.

The Seahawks have been gaining confidence with their latest win streak, even as quarterback Tarvaris Jackson has been hurting with a pectoral injury. Jackson suffered the injury over a month ago and has been limited in practice since, throwing every other day and taking it easy. Fighting through the pain, Jackson knows he has limited options:

"It's going to be like this until I either rest it or have surgery, whatever takes place," Jackson said. "I've already came to grips that it's going to be a process throughout the whole season to make sure that I'm ready for Sunday."

Sunday's matchup with Mike Shanahan's boys at CentruryLink Field will mark the first of three straight home games for Seattle, who are looking to get themselves into the playoff race one way or another. The trio of struggling teams, the Redskins (3-7), Eagles (4-6) and Rams (2-8), are definitely some chop-licking competition for Seattle, who began the season with 6 of the first 10 on the road.  It will be their first three game home stand since 2004, and Coach Carroll knows what a win this week would mean:

"This is a big deal," he said. "This weekend is. If we can get off to a good start on a three-week roll here, it will be really cool."
