2012 Pro Football Hall of Fame Semifinalists: Seahawks Great Cortez Kennedy Nominated

Cortez Kennedy is the lone Seattle Seahawks player that made the semifinals of the Pro Football Hall of Fame list for 2012.

Cortez Kennedy is arguably one of the greatest defenders in NFL history. He was the first of a new breed of interior linemen that helped usher back in the 4-3 defense into the league. And now he's being recognized for his accomplishments as he made the first cut of the Pro Football Hall of Fame nominees for the 2012 class. Kennedy is a semifinalist and is only one more cut away from making the Hall.

The Seattle Seahawks were not a great football team whenKennedy was racking it up. Kennedy was drafted by the Seahawks in 1990 with the third pick out of the University of Miami. He made eight Pro Bowls in his eleven years in Seattle. Perhaps the greatest honor was Kennedy being named 1992 NFL Defensive Player of the Year with 14 sacks. Seattle finished 2-14 that year. That's how good Kennedy was.
