Seahawks Vs. Rams Final Score: Seattle Turns To Their Defense To Beat St. Louis 24-7

The Seattle Seahawks won a fairly eventless contest with the St. Louis Rams in the Edwards Jones Dome, scoring 24 unanswered points to cruise to a 24-7 victory. Seattle took advantage of great field position on a Leon Washington put return to score their first touchdown, had a nice drive before halftime to give them their first lead, then utilized two St. Louis turnovers-- a Chris Clemons sack-fumble and a Red Bryant interception--to score the decisive 14 points.

This game is not going into the first cut of NFL Films. There were a combined 19 punts on Sunday afternoon and 18 penalties. Seattle didn't really need to do much offensively, needing to march a combined 86 yards on their three big scoring drives to score 21 points. But their defense played excellent, forcing three second half turnovers and holding Sam Bradford and St. Louis to 185 total yards and 42 yards on the ground. Their only touchdown came off a Tarvaris Jackson early interception deep in his own territory. But Jackson bounced back from the two early picks to complete 58% of his passes for 148 passing yards and a touchdown. Marshawn Lynch and Justin Forsett combined for 119 yards on the ground and two touchdowns to put it away.
