The Seahawks faced some terrible news this week when they lost starting right guard John Moffitt and right tackle James Carpenter for the season to knee injuries. Naturally, this news came as a big blow to the team and the newly established run game. Their opponent and divisional rival Rams this week are facing similar injury issues as well as they lost their starting left tackle Rodger Saffold on Friday to a severe pectoral injury.
Saffold injured his pec lifting weights this morning and will now face surgery, and is lost for the season. The Rams are also without starting right tackle Jason Smith, suffering from concussion issues, and even when healthy Smith hasn't been playing especially well despite being chosen 2nd overall in the 2009 draft.
In addition to these injuries, their franchise QB Sam Bradford is fighting injuries, and NINE cornerbacks on the Rams roster have been placed on IR this season or released. Yes, the Seahawks injuries hurt, badly, but they're certainly not the worst in the NFL.
