The Seattle Seahawks have placed linebacker Matt McCoy on the injured reserve just two days after McCoy sustained an injury against the Atlanta Falcons, according to Curtis Crabtree of 950 KJR. The team has also cut tight end Fendi Onobun and signed tight end John Nalbone to the practice squad.
McCoy collided with Aaron Curry on a punt return in Sunday's game and left the game. He is done for the season, and the Seahawks have replaced him with fourth-year linebacker David Vobora.
Onobun played for the St. Louis Rams last year Ilike Vobora) but only appeared in three games. The second-year tight end had two catches all season for 15 yards, and will look elsewhere around the NFL for employment.
Nalbone, meanwhile, played with the Miami Dolphins for the past two seasons but didn't record a single catch during his two-year stint. Nalbone (25) is one year older than Onobun (24).
The Seahawks are preparing for this week's road game against the New York Giants and will have to get contributions from other players to make up for McCoy's loss. Seattle is looking for its first road win of the year.
