Seahawks To Sign Linebacker David Vobora

The Seattle Seahawks will sign linebacker David Vobora in light of Matt McCoy's injury, according to John Boyle. Vobora is 25-years-old and has three years of NFL experience under his belt.

The Seahawks lost McCoy in Sunday's game after a collision with Aaron Curry on a punt return, and the result was an awkward bend in McCoy's knee. The Seahawks have not announced anything official on McCoy yet, and reports right now range from a possible season-ending injury to something less serious. For now, McCoy's status is all speculation, though head coach Pete Carroll thinks that the injury is not season-ending.

McCoy will surely miss some games though, and the Seahawks will bring in Vobora as insurance. The product from Idaho played for the St. Louis Rams during his first three seasons and made 16 starts. Vobora actually signed with the Seahawks out of the 2008 NFL Draft but was cut in training camp.

He now gets another chance to play for the Seahawks, and his strength on special teams will certainly be utilized. Vobora expects to see a sizeable role with his new team.
