Marshawn Lynch Injury: Back Injury Holds Seattle Seahawks Running Back Out Of Game

Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch has a history of various injuries throughout his tenure in the NFL and a back injury in warmups kept him out of Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns. The team certainly could have used him, seeing as they recorded just three points and 137 total yards.

The latest injury report comes from Roto World:

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll revealed that the back injury that sidelined Marshawn Lynch for Sunday's game has been an ongoing issue.

It wasn't on the injury report, but probably should have been. "He's had a little something ongoing with his back since he arrived with us, but today it came up right before game time," said Carroll. "Through the warmup process, his back spasmed up on him and he couldn't get loose."

It will be interesting to see if Lynch's back issues continue to keep him off the field throughout the season. His status for week eight against the Cincinnati Bengals is not known, though he will likely play if the issue truly was just back spams. Those are typically an infrequent occurrence and proper warming up and stretching is usually enough to avoid them on game day.
