The Seattle Seahawks went three-and-out to start off the game against the Atlanta Falcons, and they paid for that early ineptitude by giving up an early score. Rushes by Matthew Turner (rushes of three, six and three yards) and Jacquizz Rodgers (who had rushes of seven and eleven yards). Matt Ryan found Julius Jones for five yards, Tony Gonzalez for nine yards, and then landed Roddy White for 26 yards. Ryan then found Gonzalez in the corner of the end zone to give Atlanta a 7-0 lead.
Tarvaris Jackson then found Sidney Rice and Mike Williams for first down hookups on the next drive, but the drive stalled at midfield and Seattle was forced to punt again. The Falcons are driving at midfield.
The Seahawks have suffered some significant injuries to their front seven. Defensive end Aaron Curry rolled into the knee of linebacker Matt McCoy. McCoy injured his knee and is out. Curry apparently injured his hip and is probable to return.
