NFL Power Rankings, Week 6: Seahawks Get A Boost

ESPN released its week 6 Power Rankings today and the Seattle Seahawks were rewarded for their upset win over the Giants by being moved up three spots from no. 25 to no. 22.

The Seahawks used contributions from unlikely sources like Charlie Whitehurst, Brandon Browner and Doug Baldwin to put together the fourth quarter rally needed to pull out the 36-25 win. Baldwin finished the game with eight catches for 136 yards and he scored on a 27-yard touchdown pass from Whitehurst to make it 29-25 with 2:37 to go in the game.

But even with the late game heroics, CBS Sportsline didn't feel the need to move the Seahawks up in their own rankings as they continued to sit in the same spot - no. 24 - it sat in last week. CBS did give the Seahawks props for thwarting a litany of survivor pools across the country who picked the Giants to win.

Our own SBNation rankings, sat right in the middle on the compliments meter by moving the Seahwaks up from no. 28 to no. 26.
