NFL Playoffs: Pierre Thomas Joins Chris Ivory On Injured Reserve

I don’t know how the Seattle Seahawks are getting this lucky, but whatever they’re doing is working. Just one day after New Orleans Saints running back Chris Ivory was placed on injured reserve, running back Pierre Thomas joined him on Wednesday, ending his season. Thomas suffered an ankle injury that he will be unable to recover from in time to take the field in the playoffs.

The Seahawks, now facing a New Orleans team with a severely weakened rushing attack, keep catching breaks ahead of this Saturday’s playoff matchup. While Drew Brees is always dangerous, his job gets tougher with Reggie Bush and Julius Jones as the backfield tandem. Against the Seahawks, Ivory ran for 99 yards and a touchdown, while the rest of the run game stalled.

The New Orleans Saints travel to Seattle to face the Seahawks on Saturday at Qwest Field. Stay tuned to SB Nation Seattle for the latest on the matchup leading up to Saturday’s huge playoff game.
