Pittsburgh Steelers Jersey Gets Tacoma Middle-Schooler Sent Home

What better way for a middle school to celebrate the Seattle Seahawks upcoming NFL playoff game than to relax its typically stringent dress code and allow students to show their team pride? That team pride, however, was to only incorporate the Seahawks, as one Truman Middle School student found out on Thursday. After showing up at school in the colors of his favorite team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the student was sent home after administrators deemed his attire inappropriate (via Komo TV).

"This boy came in a different color, a different team, and he was asked, if he didn't want to participate in the Seahawks colors day, then he could wear his uniform," said Tacoma School District spokeswoman Stacy Flores.

The students were warned ahead of time that the only exception to the schools dress code on Thursday would be Seahawks colors or shirts. The boys asked about the Steelers jersey ahead of time, and was told he wouldn't be allowed to wear it, but did anyway.

Naturally, a fuss was made over it, but rules are rules. Besides, anyone who remembers Super Bowl XL is silently nodding their head in approval right now.
