The Seattle Seahawks lost cornerback Marcus Trufant late in the first half, only to see Matt Ryan take advantage with time winding down. Ryan abused Kennard Cox, Trufant’s replacement, finishing the drive with a 24-yard desperation touchdown pass to Michael Jenkins as he was being hit. The drive, 80 yards in 30 plays spanning 1:15, gave the Atlanta Falcons the lead heading into halftime, 17-10.
The Seahawks used defense to answer the Falcons, with Jordan Babineaux intercepting Matt Ryan, giving the Seahawks prime field position. The Seahawks could only muster a field goal, however, but did manage to tie the game.
From there, it was all Atlanta. The Falcons have moved the ball at will, scoring on 13-, 14- and 15-play drives in the first half, two of which ended in touchdowns.
Ryan finished the half with 130 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. On the other side of the ball, Hasselbeck threw for just 57 yards in the half. Michael Turner added 30 yards on 12 carries for the Falcons while Marshawn Lynch rumbled for 32 yards on six carries for the Seahawks.
With 30 minutes to go, the Seahawks trail the Falcons, 17-10.
