The Seattle Seahawks are in San Francisco, getting set to take-on the 49ers in pivotal NFC West action on Sunday. The Seahawks, however, will be without Mike Williams and Ben Obomanu as both are inactive for today’s game. The Seahawks will sorely need Marshawn Lynch and Justin Forsett to get it going on the ground against the 49ers with just a small handful of healthy, yet inexperienced, receivers able to take the field.
Obomanu, sidelined with a severe hand laceration, took the field for warmups wearing a heavy hand wrap. Williams, snake-bitten by injuries after starting the year strong, suffered a sprained ankle to go along with a sprained foot. It’s the latest in a long line of injuries for Matt Hasselbeck’s favorite target.
Deon Butler and Ruvell Martin will start in place of the two inactive receivers. Martin signed with the Seahawks during the offseason, was released during the final round of cuts and was re-signed during the season as wide receiver depth became an issue.
