Just moments after Klay Thompson was selected with the 11th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Golden State Warriors announced the Washington State star would be wearing No. 21 this coming season. With that, WSU fans began scrambling to quickly find a Thompson jersey by any means necessary. Many took to the Internet to build custom jerseys bearing Thompson's name and the No. 21 he planned to wear this coming season.
Except there was one problem. As you can see from the video below, Thompson was unsure of himself when picking the jersey. After looking over the roster, Thompson said "Yeah, can I just get 21," as if he made a spur-of-the-moment decision when put on the spot.
But on Monday, Thompson changed his mind after sleeping on his jersey decision and thinking it over a little more. Instead of No. 21, he'll be wearing No. 11 with the Warriors. And it makes sense, if you think about it. He was the 11th pick in the draft and wore No. 1 in college. Dorell Wright already has No. 1 all locked up, so Thompson added another one to the jersey and called it good.
Unfortunately, those that ordered customized jerseys may want to save the receipt of quickly change their order. Who knew picking a number could be so tough.
