NBA Draft Time: Picks Start Rolling In At 4 P.M. PDT On ESPN

On the West Coast, the NBA Draft is an afternoon affair, and if you're planning to watch Klay Thompson step to the podium to shake the commissioner's hand, you might want to settle in early. Thompson is expected to be taken in the first 15 picks, commonly known as the lottery picks. But as with any draft, we have no idea exactly where he'll end up, and everything could change in a split-second.

We do know Thompson is at the NBA Draft along with a handful of other invited prospects. The NBA typically invites players viewed as lottery picks to attend, sit in the green room and take part in the media scrum before and after the draft. Thompson arrived on Wednesday, but was not around for the NBA Draft media day, reportedly because he took a detour to San Antonio.

NBA Draft coverage begins at 4 p.m., and Thompson should be off the board in the first hour. ESPN has the broadcast of the 2011 NBA Draft, and will be bringing viewers wall-to-wall analysis as well as the picks as they happen in Newark. In addition to the broadcast, you can find a live-stream at ESPN3.com.

Be sure to check out the 2011 NBA Draft order as it stands now. The order is, as always, subject to change due to trades that frequently occur throughout the proceedings.

We'll find out where Thompson ends up as the 2011 NBA Draft gets underway on Thursday at 4 p.m. Stay with this StoryStream for the latest on the draft.  For the latest projections ahead of the draft, stay with our 2011 NBA mock draft StoryStream.
