NBA Trade Rumors: Aaron Brooks Mentioned In Jonny Flynn Trade Rumors

The Houston Rockets want Jonny Flynn, according to reports, and appear to be prepared to dangle Seattle native Aaron Brooks in front of the Minnesota Timberwolves in an effort to get Flynn. The Rockets are reportedly close to a deal for Flynn, with either Brooks or Jared Jeffries going to Minnesota in exchange. Draft picks may also be involved, according to earlier reports.

Brooks is in the final year of his contract with the Rockets and no progress has been made towards an extension. Instead of letting him walk for free, it appears the Rockets are trying to get something of value for him, dangling him out at the trade deadline as teams scramble to make moves. Trading freezes at noon on Thursday, giving teams just a few more hours to make a move.

Flynn, on the other hand, hasn’t done much with Minnesota, making Houston’s interest surprising. On the surface, it looks like a swap of problems, with Houston getting rid of Brook’s with free agency pending, or Jeffries contract, and the Timberwolves cutting ties with Flynn, their former first round pick.
