Gerald Wallace To Portland Rumored As NBA Trade Deadline Approaches

The NBA trade deadline is just under a day away, but business is heating up, especially in the Northwest. The Portland Trailblazers are wheeling and dealing, looking to make at least one move ahead of the draft deadline. The latest trade rumor involves the Blazers and Charlotte Bobcats, with Gerald Wallace the centerpiece in a potential deal.

According to CBS Sports’ Ken Berger, sources are indicating two different packages for Wallace. One package would send Joel Przybilla and a draft pick to Charlotte for Wallace while the other is centered around Andre Miller. Berger added if it’s Przybilla, the deal would seem to indicate the Bobcats are punting, looking to just offload Wallace for any price. Charlotte was also in discussions with the Cleveland Cavaliers about Wallace, but it appears those talks have broken down, leaving Portland as the likely destination should a trade happen.

The trade deadline is set for 12 p.m. Pacific, making for a long night for NBA owners everywhere. Rumors are continuing to fly around as teams scramble to get the right pieces in place for either a playoff run this year, room offseason acquisitions or for a roster rebuild.
