Mariners Vs. Rangers: Beavan, Seattle Look To Add Pressure To Texas's Division Lead

With their lead on the American League West slimmed to just two games with less than 20 games to go in the season, the Texas Rangers battle the Seattle Mariners in the rubber game of their three-game series on Sunday at 12:05 p.m. PT.

The Mariners send Blake Beavan to the mound. Beavan is making his third career start, the last of which came on May 30, when he surrendered five runs and eight hits in six innings.

The Mariners grabbed an 8-6 victory over the Rangers on Saturday night, using a three-hit, three-RBI performance from first baseman Justin Smoak and three RBIs from Michael Saunders to out-slug the Rangers' offensive powerhouse lineup.

The Rangers will counter on Sunday with starter Matt Harrison, who could become the Rangers' first 17-game winner since Scott Feldman had that many in 2009. Harrison is 3-2 in his last five starts, with his most recent outing against the Cleveland Indians resulting in a win.
