The AL West last-place Seattle Mariners can play the role of spoiler this weekend when they start a three-game series with the Texas Rangers Friday night.

The Rangers (85-58) hold a three-game lead over the Oakland Athletics in the AL West and are looking for some breathing room in their series against the Mariners (69-75). The series gets underway Friday night at 8:05 p.m. ET/5:05 p.m. PT in Arlington, Texas at Rangers Ballpark. Hisashi Iwakuma (6-4, 3.39 ERA) is set to take the mound for Seattle and will face Texas's Yu Darvish (14-9, 4.14 ERA).
