Mariners Vs. Indians Final Score: Seattle Picks Up Eighth Straight Win, 3-1

The Seattle Mariners have no intention of slowing down. They completed a sweep of the Cleveland Indians at Safeco Field on Wednesday afternoon. The 3-1 win was their eighth straight victory.

Michael Saunders hit his 14th home run of the year in the bottom of the first inning to get the scoring started. In the sixth inning, starter Hisashi Iwakuma gave up a two-out single to Casey Kotchman that tied the game, 1-1.

In the bottom of the eighth, Kyle Seager drove a one-out pitch to right field and took second, stretching a key hit into a double in a close play that got Indians manager Manny Acta tossed from the game. John Jaso was intentionally walked and Jesus Montero struck out, but Eric Thames one again got to be the hero, banging a two-out double into right field to drive in both runs and give the Mariners the 3-1 lead. Thames has been 11-for-27 over the last nine games at Safeco Field.
