Mariners Vs. Indians Game Preview: King Felix Looks To Follow Up Perfect Game With Win

Riding a six-game winning streak, the Seattle Mariners look to maintain their recent success as they face the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday night. The Mariners beat Cleveland on Monday in the series opener, the eighth victory in nine games for the surging Mariners.

Felix Hernandez takes the mound for Seattle, coming off one of the greatest pitching performances in baseball history. With every bit of his repertoire going, King Felix pitched the first perfect game in Mariners history in his previous start, striking out 12 in an absolutely dominating performance against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Now, the Mariners are simply hoping that Hernandez can pitch well enough to get the team another win. Seattle is still five games under .500 at this point, but the wins have been piling up of late. Since July 26, the Mariners are 16-7, and no team in the AL has a better record (23-13) since the All-Star break.

First pitch is at 7:10 p.m. PT, with the game being broadcast on television by ROOT Sports. To listen on the radio, head over to 710 ESPN.
