Mariners Vs. Royals Final Score: Kevin Millwood Finally Back In Win Column After 4-3 Victory

The Seattle Mariners are having a wonderful time thus far in their four-game series against the Kansas City Royals. On Saturday, they took their third straight against the Royals at Safeco Field by a final score of 4-3.

Billy Butler hit an RBI single in the top of the first inning to give Kansas City an early lead. Jesus Montero came through with a big hit in the top of the third for the M's, as his two-run homer gave Seattle a 2-1 lead. Miguel Olivo singled home Kyle Seager in the third to extend the lead.

Alcides Escobar hit an RBI triple in the top of the eighth to cut the lead to 3-2, but Mike Carp got a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth that ended up being the difference maker. Tom Wilhelmsen gave up another RBI triple to Lorenzo Cain in the top of the ninth, but got Alex Gordon to ground out to end the game.

Kevin Millwood finally picked up another win with one one run allowed in 6.1 innings (none earned) on six hits and one walk. Millwood improves to 4-8. Wilhelmsen was awarded his 13th save.

The Mariners will go for the four-game sweep on Sunday.
