Mariners Vs. Dodgers Series Preview: TV Schedule, Probable Pitchers & More

The Mariners have had some success recently. They'll be trying for a series win against one of the best teams in baseball.

Presswire

The Seattle Mariners are coming off a big series win against division rivals the Los Angeles Angels and were able to halt a team that appeared to be on a humongous roll. They will hope to do that once again as they prepare for their second interleague series of 2012. They will host the Los Angeles Dodgers for a three-game series beginning on Friday.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been one of the best teams in baseball all year and they look to be legit. After losing Matt Kemp for the second time this season, the Dodgers went ahead and swept the Philadelphia Phillies in a four-game series and Citizens Bank Park. It was the first time the Dodgers have swept the Phillies in four games since moving to Los Angeles.

The Mariners will need to focus on shutting down the Dodgers both at the plate and on the basepaths. Although one of the two main offensive threats is removed with the loss of Kemp, the Dodgers manage to win in unorthodox ways and have a tendency to scrap for runs in late innings.

TV Schedule & Probable Pitchers

Friday's game will begin at 7:10 p.m. PT and will be televised on ROOT Sports. You can catch the radio broadcast on ESPN 710. Kevin Millwood tries to bounce back after a couple of early exits due to high pitch counts. He'll take on right-hander Nathan Eovaldi, who is still looking for his first win of the year.

First pitch on Saturday will be at 4:15 p.m. PT and the game will be televised nationally on FOX. You can catch the radio broadcast on ESPN 710. This will be a solid pitching matchup as Jason Vargas goes for his eighth win of the year against reigning NL Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw.

Sunday's finale will begin at 1:10 p.m. PT and will be televised on ROOT Sports. You can catch the radio broadcast on ESPN 710. The Seattle starter for this game is yet to be determined, but this could be when Felix Hernandez returns to the rotation after being scratched from his last start. The always-dangerous Chad Billingsley starts for the Dodgers.
