The 2012 MLB Draft has come and gone and the Seattle Mariners have a new wave of possible All-Stars as part of their organization. The players have until June 13 to sign with the team, but until then can bask in the glory of knowing that they are major leaguers.
Having a obvious focus with their picks, the M's made pitching a large part of their 2012 draft, selecting 20 young guns (13 righties, 7 lefties) amongst the 41 picks they made. Nevertheless, they are satisified with the diversity of players they selected this year:
"Overall, we're very pleased with the athleticism, talent level and character of the players we drafted," Mariners scouting director Tom McNamara said. "Our scouts did an excellent job traveling all over the country finding the top talent at both the high school and college levels. We look forward to getting many of these young men signed and in uniform."
