The Seattle Mariners attempted to pick up a quick series win on Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Angels. Instead, the Angels -- specifically Mark Trumbo -- romped in a 6-1 win to even the series.
The Angels went up 2-0 in the bottom of the second on back-to-back homers by Mark Trumbo and Torii Hunter. Michael Saunders led off the top of the third with a solo shot for Seattle's only run of the game.
The Angels added two more runs in the bottom of the third on RBI singles by Albert Pujols and Trumbo, then plated their final two in the bottom of the fifth on a two-run shot by Trumbo.
Saunders was 3-for-4 and accounted for three-fifths of the Seattle hits in the game.
The Mariners will go for the series win in the rubber game on Wednesday.
