The Seattle Mariners headed back home to Safeco Field on Friday night having just been swept by the Tampa Bay Rays. The Minnesota Twins are also coming off of being swept by the Los Angeles Angels. Both teams headed into Friday's game in Seattle knowing that at least one of them would be able to snap their losing streak. Unfortunately, due to one bad inning, the Twins came out on top by a final score of 3-2.
The Mariners took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning, on RBI doubles by Kyle Seager and Mike Carp. Thinks fell apart in the top of the seventh when the Twins scored on a throwing error, an RBI groundout and a Joe Mauer RBI single. Seattle was unable to score again in the game.
Jesus Montero was 2-for-4 with a double. The M's will try to even the series on Saturday.
