Mariners Vs. Rays, Game 4 Final Score: Seattle Gets Swept With 4-3 Loss

The Seattle Mariners managed to stay competitive as they visited the Tampa Bay Rays, but in the end they kept coming up just short. On Thursday, the Rays defeated the Mariners by a final score of 4-3 to complete the four-game sweep of Seattle.

The Mariners once again got on top early, as they scored two runs in the top of the second on a Mike Carp RBI groundout and a Justin Smoak RBI single. That 2-0 lead was short-lived, however, as the Rays tied it in the bottom or the second on a Jeff Keppinger home run and went ahead on a two-run Desmond Jennings triple just two batters later.

The M's managed to cut the lead to 4-3 in the top of the fifth, when Ichiro Suzuki doubled home Dustin Ackley with two outs, but Seattle would get no closer.

John Jaso had a single and a double in Seattle's only multi-hit performance of the day. Starting pitcher Kevin Millwood took the loss, surrendering all four runs in 6.1 innings on seven hits and two walks. Millwood is now 0-3 with a 5.34 ERA.
