Mariners Vs. Rangers Final Score: Seattle Victims Of Tough Luck In 3-1 Loss

The Seattle Mariners were trying to take their series against the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night. Although they still have another chance to do so, Tuesday was not their evening, as the Mariners had two potentially game-changing hits taken away from them by Texas center fielder Josh Hamilton in a 3-1 loss.

Seattle got on the board first, as Justin Smoak hit an RBI single in the bottom of the first inning. The third inning would be the undoing for Seattle, as Elvis Andrus hit a two-out, two-run triple to give the Rangers the lead and Hamilton would drive in Andrus with a ground-rule double.

Hector Noesi was the tough-luck loser despite turning in perhaps his best start of the year, giving up three runs on three hits and two walks in eight innings of work, while striking out seven. The Mariners out-hit the Rangers, 10 to four, but all the hits came in the wrong order on both sides for Seattle.

The Mariners will try to pick up the series win on Wednesday.
